for the sake of your own life.for the sake of your own life.Whether in village or wilderness,Whether in village or wilderness,wherever a serpent is seen,wherever a serpent is seen,

with the passing of the days and nights.with the passing of the days and nights.But if a mendicant endowed with ethicsBut if a mendicant endowed with ethicsburns you with their power,burns you with their power,

you’ll have no children or livestock,you’ll have no children or livestock,nor will your heirs find wealth.nor will your heirs find wealth.Childless and heirless you become,Childless and heirless you become,

like a palm-tree stump.like a palm-tree stump.That’s why an astute person,That’s why an astute person,seeing what’s good for themselves,seeing what’s good for themselves,
